Obverse Worlds - Campaign Summary
You began hired on as guards for Gerard's caravan, bringing goods into Virrir. You all had different reasons for being there, some personal, some pragmatic. Arriving at the Virrir border you were halted by the guards at the border crossing and told that the borders were closed. At Gerard's request you left the caravan and entered Virrir through a mountain pass, arriving in Scilia. In Scilia you were greeted by Tilmar, a dwarven cleric of Kord, who was willing to sponsor your entry so that the supplies would arrive.
You returned to the caravan with the news and proceeded to Scilia, upon arrival you discovered that several items had gone missing. Tilmar informed you that similar disappearances had been happening in and around Scilia. After investigating you found that all the disappearances had been occurring in a roughly circular pattern. Setting off for the centre of the circle you worked your way through the wilderness and eventually came to a clearing with some sort of glowing anomaly. After clearing some wildlife that had been attracted by the phenomena Eric's study concluded that it was some sort of blister or bubble of planar space with something trapped inside, possibly as the result of a botched attempt at planar travel. Eric was able to determine a means to collapse the blister, and released a dwarf who had been trapped inside, Torbera, a member of an expedition that was exploring ruins that predated the Cataclysm.
Torbera thanked the party and left to continue her own investigations. While the party received a request from Vincent Ashebury to meet at the Grand Temple in Apostle's Rest at the base of Mount Harmonia. They were asked by Vincent to stop at Ashford on the way and find out what is happening there. In Ashford they found a town overrun by a strange branch of what seemed to be the cult of the Hidden Dragon. They were found draining the energy from captured villagers and channeling it into another planar blister. The party was able to abort the process rather destructively. A silvery liquid residue was left behind, Eric and Caleb both quickly took samples before it completely soaked into the ground.
Arriving at Apostle's Rest you were greeting warmly by Vincent, and he explained to you difficulty he was having regarding a recent prophecy. It was his concern that he was being told only a sanitised version, but it was his desire to give as much information as possible to the general populace. The party agreed to help try to get more information, and began seeking out the three prophets. After talking to the group the prophets agreed to talk directly to Vincent, but shortly after were kidnapped. Setting off in search of them the group found a set of catacombs beneath the cathedral, deep inside of which were the people who kidnapped the prophets. The party dispatched them and rescued the prophets, but their proximity triggered a relapse of their visions, sending them all into comas. The kidnappers were traced to a home in Apostle's Rest, where a note was found indicated the involvement of the Hidden Crescent.
After rescuing the prophets Brak received a letter from his brother Brek, requesting the retrieval of a lost artifact, the Crown of Winter. Trekking through an unnatural winter the players eventually discovered the keep of the Winter King on a small island in the Border Lake between Virrir and Regin. Inside the keep were many strange sights and creatures and people that seemed to have been frozen for hundreds of years, unaware of the time that had passed. They defeated the Winter King and discovered that his crown was linked to yet another planar blister, this one somehow incorporated into the construction of the crown itself. Using the powers granted by his patron, Caleb was able to siphon away the shell of cold that had accumulated around the crown, leaving the planar core bare. Brak sent word to Brek that the crown had been retrieved, and that they would meet in Apostle's Rest.
