Bull

Background

Bull (real name Kelvin Dawson), was born in the city of Tragador to half-orc parents, in the year 1494. Abandoned by his father, he was raised by his mother until the age of 7, when she passed away due to illness. With no relatives to take him in, he found himself placed in an orphanage within the city. The orphanage was little more than a training ground for thieves and rogues, and he soon found himself wrapped up in their crimes.

By age 14, Bull (a nickname given to him by the other kids at the orphanage) was working full-time for the thieves guild. Although he did not enjoy the work he did, he took some solace in the fact that due to his great strength and speed, he rarely was forced to hurt anyone... most people had enough sense not to stay out of his way.

Two months ago, Bull took part in a job for the guild. Kidnap two children from a local noble family, and then ransom them back for a tidy profit. It made Bull uncomfortable but he took part, under the condition that the children were not to be harmed. Of course, something went wrong. Due to the incompetence of one of the conspirators, the guard quickly tracked them to their hideout. The guildmaster ordered everyone to evacuate, and ordered Bull to kill the children first, to minimize their liability. Bull refused, and when his guildmaster went to do it himself, Bull stopped him.

Since then, Bull has been on the run from the guild. With no savings to speak of, and no home that's safe, he's been living off the street, eating whatever scraps he could find. Bordering on desperation, he signed up for guard duty for the parade, aware of the fact that if he's trying to keep a low profile, this is not the best way to do it. But as with so many other times in his life, it's not like he has a choice.

Personality

My character will be good aligned. Immediate motivations will probably be financial in nature (on the run from the guild means no money coming in, no food to eat, and no shelter), but he has long been shunned by people for his appearance and social standing, so if he were to find friends who treated him well, he would probably follow them to hell and back. Tries to do the right thing, and will not stand by when innocents (particularly children) are threatened.
