Brekt (Abomination Vaults)

For nearly a year, a half-orc by the name of Brekt has been in and around the area of Otari. That may not be unusual in and of itself but his large stature, enormous weapons and animal furs tend to make him stand out. Despite that, the people who have interacted with him at the pub or have hired him for a job have generally found him to be better than they expected in terms of behaviour, and demeanor. (“he’s less of savage than I would have thought!”)

Brekt is on a journey to hone his skills and test his mettle as a warrior. This is a common rite of passage in his Varisian tribe. He has a lot to live up to - a few years before he was born, Brekt’s father became known as a hero for leading the party that hunted down and killed a black dragon, which was a terror in Varisia.

A feeling that he can’t explain had drawn him to the Isle of Kortos. Now in Otari, Brekt has been working with a witch who lives near the swamp and, through her, has made some other acquaintances, including a local fixture in the community, Wrin. Some nights in the pub, after a few drinks, Brekt will speak about creatures he believes he has seen in the Fogfen but most in Otari do not seem overly concerned. He believes, possibly due to his heightened senses, that there are some particularly terrible creatures lurking there… he can’t be certain, but there may even be a black dragon…
