Lockston is a trading hub, located on the border of Regin and Thelland at the terminus of the River Lohven, and home to about 2000 people. Its name derives from the Great Locks of Wren that the town is built around.

==History==
Originally the Lohven was inaccessible for marine trade on account of the cliff over which it fell before joining the sea. Many merchants lamented this fact, as the Lohven was a wide and easily traversed river, with frequent traffic along its length. If the falls could be traversed it would open up sea trade routes to many inland locations, both in Thelland and Regin.

After many years of wishful thinking, a Thellish engineer and architect by the name of Christopher Wren set about to change this. He had a vision many though was insane. A great elevator, hoisting ships up the cliffside. In collaboration with the Dwarves he drew up plans for a pair of counterbalanced lift locks, cleverly powered by the flow of the river itself, and began seeking investors. While he ran into many skeptics, he also found just as many merchants who lived on the Lohven that were eager to open up trade on a larger scale. It was not long before construction began. The construction camps were the first, temporary, residents of the town that would come to be known as Lockston.

==Geography==
Situated at a low point on the cliffs of Selzin, Lockston straddles the cliffside with the bulk of the town built around the Lohven river at the top of the cliff. The river's floodplain has created land suitable for farming in the area along the riverside. The land quickly becomes hilly and uneven away from the riverbank and cliff edge, with light forests intermixed with the southern hills.
