Originally from Lockston, he was taken in and raised by the mayor.  Later in life he left to become a privateer. Recently returned to help with local troubles.&lt;br /&gt;

The characters are in the town of Lockston, on the North East coast of the nation of Thelland.  About town each character finds notices from Captain Damien Price, requesting the aid of brave heroes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Upon meeting with Captain Price, the characters are informed that a large group of goblins have been seen in the hills South of Lockston.  The town guard is busy keeping order in the docks due to the busy shipping season, and so the Captain is looking for volunteers to scout out the goblin encampment.  All the characters agree to volunteer.  Before leaving town, the characters do brief introductions, having never met before, with the exception of Imen and Garrett.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Journeying South for two days, the party has a number of encounters with animals, and Garret's druidic skills are proven to be quite valuable in negotiating with them.  Nearing the goblin encampment, our heroes encounter a scouting party of three goblins.  The fighting is fierce, and while the party proves victorious, Imen falls to the goblin blades.  He is buried on a hill nearby.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The party reaches the goblin encampment, and learns that there are a great many goblins, somewhere between one and two hundred.  Garrett scouts the camp alone, and discovers that the leader's tent is by itself on a nearby rise.  Later that night, the party dispatches a goblin patrol and Garrett sneaks into the camp again.  Bypassing a single guard, he creeps into the tent, and steals a document written in Goblin, and learns something of their plans from a crudely drawn map.  He also grabs a bag of gems, a potion, and some magic dust.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The party flees with their loot, back to Lockston, ahead of the goblin horde.  Upon reaching town, they alert Captain Price to the danger, and give him the goblin document so that he may find someone to translate it.  Captain Price says that he will have to pull the town guard from their current duties to fend off the goblins, but that warned of the threat, they shouldn't prove to be too great a danger to the town.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

Sora's origins are largely unknown. He was found in a cave in the side of Mount Harmonia, in [[Virrir]]. The man who found him was Father Balian II, a priest of the church of Bahamut. Balian found the resemblance between the young dragonling and Bahamut striking; not only did he have silver-white scales and blue eyes, but his breath was as cold as ice. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Balian took the dragon-child and raised him as a son, teaching him the ways of Bahamut and revering him as a gift from the Dragon-God. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Upbringing:==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Sora was raised with the utmost respect for the ideals of Bahamut. From a young age, he was told he was an avatar of Bahamut; a physical representation of the Dragon-God. He would never lift a finger on any creature, and was strictly disapproving of any evil or foul acts.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Throughout adolescence, he found many different callings in and around Virrir, helping the downtrodden and weak in the process. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
When he was sixteen, Balian approched Sora and explained that it was time he learn to fight. Sora was confused, believing that violence was strictly forbidden. Balian explained that, while violence was a last resort, sometimes it was the only way to protect those who could not protect themselves. He told Sora many tales of enslaved villagers, burned hovels, slain peasants...all of whom could have been saved if someone, anyone, had been more vigilant and able.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Sora accepted and understood this reality. He spent the next five years training with Balian, learning to become a protector of good; a defender of all. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Now an adult, Sora continues his mission of protection, serving as a knight of Bahamut.&lt;br /&gt;

Currently, he is travelling back to Virrir with a caravan, provide protection for the various perishable and foodstuffs that it is transporting. It isn't as glorious or helpful as he might like, but he is hoping to find a greater calling once he reaches Virrir.&lt;br /&gt;

Balian found the resemblance between the young dragonling and Bahamut striking; not only did he have silver-white scales and blue eyes, but his breath was as cold as ice. &lt;br /&gt;

Balian explained that, while violence was a last resort, sometimes it was the only way to protect those who could not protect themselves. They found the spirit and body of an elf named Silincas, who doesn't appear to know where he is and doesn't know why his mind and body were separated...&lt;br /&gt;

Caleb Cradlehorn, Sora, Asteron, Eric Moore, Marcus Ondore and Brak Greystone escorted a caravan containing various goods to Virrir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Upon reaching the Virran border, the caravan was greeted by guards who informed them that the border was closed; the caravan would simply have to wait at a nearby rest-stop until the border reopened. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The guards would not expand on the nature of the border closing, so Gerard asked the party to take the mountain pass into Virrir. It's unguarded border would enable them to make their way to the town of Cylia and get someone to sponsor their entry.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The mountain crossing was cold; colder than a penguin's chuff. After many days of fighting back the wilderness, and many nights of fighting off the cold, the party discovered a large cavern. Inside they found a fledgling white dragon. A battle ensued, but the party quickly dispatched the nasty reptile and spent the night in its cave.&lt;br /&gt;

The next day, they made it to Cylia. There they quickly befriended some locals who offered to sponsor their entry. With the proper documents in hand, they made their way back to the border crossing and the waiting caravan.&lt;br /&gt;

Shortly after arriving in Cylia the party discovered that most of the magical goods being carried by their caravan, including most of Caleb's Uncle's goods, had disappeared from within their locked chests. Frustrated by this turn of events they approached the government of Cylia to seek redress, only to be informed that the town proper was suffering from a the same issue.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Caleb then spearheaded an investigation of the local troubles, which culminated in mapping out the thefts and establishing that the epicenter of the phenomenon lay several days journey outside of the town. Unfortunately, during the investigation, the party laid a clever trap for the presumed thief using Brak's enchanted boots as bait. The boots were taken, but no thief was found.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The party then left Cylia to seek the center of the phenomenon and put a stop to it. However, they were assailed by ferocious monsters en-route and Caleb was slain. He was later told that the party had bested a number of beasts before finding a magical anomaly that was the source of the phenomenon afflicting both the town and the caravan. Eric, the party's wizard, devised a new ritual to resolve the issue freeing Torbera Telvrik from a failed plane-shift/teleport ritual, and as a sign of her gratitude she called upon her divine power to raise Caleb from the dead.&lt;br /&gt;

The party arrived at Apostle's Rest, the sprawling city at the base of Mount Harmonia. There they met with Vincent Ashebury at Azin's Inn. He explained that he has been commissioned by the Church to create a &amp;quot;sanitized&amp;quot; version of the prophecy; something for the masses. However, he is not being allowed to review any of the original prophecy in order to do so. He tasks the party with finding out which members of the church had the original visions, and to obtain their permission to get access to the notes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After a bit of digging, the party found that Bishop Lilly Ailen, a member of the church of Ioun was one of the original three bishops to have the vision. The party managed to gain an audience with the bedridden cleric who, after a short discussion, agreed to give her consent as well as the names of the other two bishops. The party visited with each of them and secured their permission to get a copy of the original, unedited notes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Having been promised a copy of the notes, the party retired for the night. The next morning, there was no word on the notes. The group ventured to the Cathedral and were greeted by guards who accused them of kidnapping the bishops, who had disappeared during the night. The guards took them to meet a panel of clergymen who asked them to answer to the charges; the bishops had vanished along with all the original notes, copies, ink quills...everything pertaining to the prophecy.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The party invoked the named of Vincent Ashebury as being able to vouch for their whereabouts and, after a brief but impressive speech on his part, the party was released. Vincent put the entire Cathedral on lockdown as the party began their investigation.&lt;br /&gt;

At first the party believed it would take a smarter group than them to connect these events. After a bit of searching however, the group found a secret access-way which seemed to connect the entire Cathedral to some basement retreat or safe. The party made their way into the basement and were faced with armed guards, bearing the symbol of Vecna.&lt;br /&gt;

Upon reaching the Virran border, the caravan was greeted by guards who informed them that the border was closed; the caravan would simply have to wait at a nearby rest-stop until the border reopened. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The guards would not expand on the nature of the border closing, so Gerard asked the party to take the mountain pass into Virrir. It's unguarded border would enable them to make their way to the town of Cylia and get someone to sponsor their entry.&lt;br /&gt;

The mountain crossing was cold; colder than a penguin's chuff. After many days of fighting back the wilderness, and many nights of fighting off the cold, the party discovered a large cavern. Inside they found a fledgling white dragon. A battle ensued, but the party quickly dispatched the nasty reptile and spent the night in its cave.&lt;br /&gt;

The next day, they made it to Cylia. There they quickly befriended some locals who offered to sponsor their entry. With the proper documents in hand, they made their way back to the border crossing and the waiting caravan.&lt;br /&gt;

Balian found the resemblance between the young dragonling and Bahamut striking; not only did he have silver-white scales and blue eyes, but his breath was as cold as ice. &lt;br /&gt;

Balian took the dragon-child and raised him as a son, teaching him the ways of Bahamut and revering him as a gift from the Dragon-God. &lt;br /&gt;

The campaign will begin with the player characters all involved, in one way or another, with trade between Virrir and the other Panterran nations.  They can be guards for merchant caravans, or merchants themselves, anything that would put them into a position of needing to travel in and out of Virrir.&lt;br /&gt;
On their most recent trip to Virrir an undisclosed &amp;quot;incident&amp;quot; of some sort took place within Virrir which has the nation on edge, and many people in the capital are beginning to refuse contact with outsiders.  The PCs will volunteer/be recruited to offer their services to the Virrir authorities to help hasten the resolution of this issue.&lt;br /&gt;

While any published race/class is allowed it would be preferable to choose a race that has a background in this campaign world. Sora's origins are largely unknown. He was found in a cave in the side of Mount Harmonia, in Virrir. The man who found him was Father Balian II, a priest of the church of Bahamut. Balian found the resemblance between the young dragonling and Bahamut striking; not only did he have silver-white scales and blue eyes, but his breath was as cold as ice. &lt;br /&gt;

Balian took the dragon-child and raised him as a son, teaching him the ways of Bahamut and revering him as a gift from the Dragon-God. &lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
Throughout adolescence, he found many different callings in and around Virrir, helping the downtrodden and weak in the process. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
When he was sixteen, Balian approched Sora and explained that it was time he learn to fight. Sora was confused, believing that violence was strictly forbidden. Balian explained that, while violence was a last resort, sometimes it was the only way to protect those who could not protect themselves. He told Sora many tales of enslaved villagers, burned hovels, slain peasants...all of whom could have been saved if someone, anyone, had been more vigilant and able.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Sora accepted and understood this reality. He spent the next five years training with Balian, learning to become a protector of good; a defender of all. &lt;br /&gt;

&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Kerric Stoneheart was an unexpected birth, born to aged parents who had long given up on having a child.  Shortly after his birth his parents, both accomplished smiths, decided in their overwhelming thankfulness that Kerric should be trained in the divine arts, as a way of saying thank you to whatever god granted them a child.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;From his tenth birthday onwards he was raised mostly by the clergy of Pious Point, but his parents were never far.  They took great interest in his progress, and were very proud when Kerric discovered tomes describing divine runes and began showing a talent for manipulating them, an uncommon form of divine magic.  Kerric himself found the runes fascinating, and strove to discover as much about them as he could, taking the name Runesight on his name day, formalizing what would become his calling in life.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
===Training===&lt;br /&gt;
While it is normally within the practice of wizards that words are combined into magic, Kerric's upbringing was a very pious one, and he was convinced that such power must have a more divine origin, with arcane spells merely a faded copy of the original divine symbols that created magic.&lt;br /&gt;
In his studies on the subject he was attracted to the teachings of Ioun, but unlike many of Ioun's followers, felt that learning the use of spells through arcane channels was an inelegant solution, likening the use of arcane spells to using words without first learning the letters that form them.&lt;br /&gt;
After several years of research he uncovered what he was searching for.  The divine runes of power, supposedly wielded by the gods themselves when forming the world.  The correct rune or combination of runes could be used to describe the existence of any object or force, and thus create it at the same time.&lt;br /&gt;
He learned how to handle the most basic of runes, knowing full well that premature attempts to form runes he does not yet fully understand could cause untold damage to both himself and possibly those around him.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
===Current Events===&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;About five years ago Kerric learned of a wizard of considerable repute who had taken up residence in the city of Tragador.  While normally Kerric's attitude towards users of the arcane bordered on disdain he learned that this particular wizard, one Devin, also had considerable knowledge of runes.  Journeying to Tragador to meet with this wizard he found that Devin was not quite what he imagined, with many shady dealings and sketchy contacts.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Kerric was just beginning to question the wisdom of his collaboration with such a man when the occupation of Tragidor began, trapping him there, away from his family and colleagues.  He has tried to continue his studies, but under the watchful eyes of the orcs and ogres it has been difficult.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;It is Kerric's opinion that the occupation of Tragadine was part of some greater scheme, and not merely the result of the invasion coincidentally happening at the same time that the army was mobilized elsewhere.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

==Personality==&lt;br /&gt;
A kind dwarf whose sheltered upbringing had left him unaware of the evils of the world, his five years in occupied Tragador has changed his outlook somewhat.  His shock at the truths of the evils in everyday life was tempered by Dwarven stoicism and determination, changing what may have been a breakdown in someone more volatile into a calm resolution to help fight such injustices and protest unfairness.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

When the fighting finally stopped, Zark and his mother ventured into town. Upon seeing the discarded body of his father, Zark has a divine moment. The warband could have achieved their goals without resorting to causing havoc, but they chose not to. Zark finally crystalized the knowledge passed on from his father, and took up the mantle of the avengers...&lt;br /&gt;

*Ten years ago (1500) Durran (Half-Elf), the Pope at the time, died a seemingly natural death &lt;br /&gt;
*Bishop Samuel (Deva) was appointed as the new Pope.  Two weeks later is declared a crusade against the giants.&lt;br /&gt;
*All former contact with their long-time allies, Tragadine, was severed&lt;br /&gt;

==Tragadine==&lt;br /&gt;
*An archipelago consisting of 5 islands, each having one major citiy.&lt;br /&gt;
*These islands are connected by large bridges.&lt;br /&gt;
*Ruled by a king, Francis the Third (Human)&lt;br /&gt;
*5 years after Samuel declared his crusade (1505), the cities of Tragadine were overtaken and the royal family slain by an alliance of orc and ogre tribes.  The cause of this is said to be because the general of the Tragadine army, Armil (Eladrin), took most of his forces on training exercises, leaving the cities defenseless.&lt;br /&gt;
*Entry or exit from the cities is limited and communication between them is prohibited.&lt;br /&gt;
*Tragador - the capital city and largest island located in the center of the archipelago.  The king resides here.&lt;br /&gt;
*Windvale - port town of Tragadine, this is where the airships from the Holy Lands used to dock when they arrived -Touten - a quaint rural, farming town which was known for it's hospitality.  A great place to visit for those wanting a break from the large city life.&lt;br /&gt;
*Redcliff - a mining town known for uncovering a few ruins of old cities &lt;br /&gt;
*Verhan - the oldest city of Tragadine and having a large population for a city of its size&lt;br /&gt;

==The Giant Lands==&lt;br /&gt;
*Not visited since it is populated by giants, which are considered evil&lt;br /&gt;

*Land located North of Tragadine and Northeast of the Holy Lands.&lt;br /&gt;

*Islands said to be overflowing in necrotic energies &lt;br /&gt;
*Was formally a focus of investigation by the Holy Lands under the rule of Pope Durran&lt;br /&gt;

*A single, simple town landing southwest of the Isle of Lost Souls &lt;br /&gt;
*Technology and lifestyle fall somewhere in between those of Tragadine and the Savage Isles; not barabarians but not living in a world with airships &lt;br /&gt;
*Is said to be plagued with terrbile night hags.  Some say they even rule over this town&lt;br /&gt;

* Pre-occupation, he was considered the greatest entertainer Tragadine has ever seen.  He would usually tour the five cities, playing is popular ballards to the delight of noble and commoner alike.  His last stop as 5 years ago was in Touten, but hasn't been heard from since.&lt;br /&gt;

====Orangeman====&lt;br /&gt;
* A human knight and great hero from Tragadine.  Exactly what he did and why he's a hero is unknown.  There has been a national holiday, Orangeman's Day, for as long as anyone can remember.&lt;br /&gt;

* Leader of the Bloodrock tribe.  Became of the leader of this tribe by outsmarting the former leader in a duel with the former leader.  Usually wears a tattered red cloak and wields a greatspear&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
====Ootah (Female, Orc)====&lt;br /&gt;
* Leader of the Goretusk tribe.  A particularly ugly orc, Ootah became the leader of her tribe after proving with her archery skills, that she alone could feed the entire clan.  A well fed orc is a happy orc.  Never seen without her oversized greatbow.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
====Krusk (Male, Orc)====&lt;br /&gt;
* Leader of the Grimaxe tribe.  His ruthless demeanor towards any who would oppose him instilled fear into the rest of his tribe.  This naturally progressed until he became the leader of his tribe.  Considered the number three in charge of the alliance, he usually hunts down those who he deems as a threat to the orcish rule.&lt;br /&gt;
He is the tallest orc, which means his custom made executioner's axe is made that much more intimidating.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
====Scrag (Male, Orc)====&lt;br /&gt;
* Leader of the Torneye tribe.  A Religious fanatic, his ability to convince the rest of his tribe that he preforms the god's will is why he is a leader.  Scrag is the smallest of the orc leaders which is fitting as the Torneye tribe has the least amount of members of the orc tribes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
====Tarak (Male, Orc)====&lt;br /&gt;
* Learder of the Deathgrip tribe.  Tarak is the leader of the Orc/Ogre Alliance.  This was apparently accomplished by Tarak walking up to the ogre tribes and telling them to follow him or be destroyed. His combination of above-average orc intelligence, power and motivation is why he is the current King of Tragadine.  He is proficient with the spiked chain.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
====Darth (Male, Ogre)====&lt;br /&gt;
* Leader of the Dire Maul clan.  He is the second-in-command of the alliance.  Clad in black, he is the largest Ogre ever seen.  Also known for his uncharacteristically high intelligence, it is rumored that he is waiting to see how Tarak deals with this occupation and will strike him down from power when the moment is right.  He uses a triple headed flail.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
====Winston (Male, Ogre)==== &lt;br /&gt;
* Leader of the War Hulk clan.  At a young age, it is said that this ogre struck down a powerful warrior from the Savage Isles.  From that victory he took his victim's weapon (falchion) and his name (Winston).  Since then , he collects trophy's from any who he slays.&lt;br /&gt;

====Orge (Male, Ogre)==== &lt;br /&gt;
* Leader of the Big Bludgeon clan.  Being slightly smarter and faster than his kin, Orge became the leader of his tribe.&lt;br /&gt;
Likes to bludgeon with his greatclub.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
====Uuug (Male, Ogre)====&lt;br /&gt;
* Leader of the Smah Heads clan.  One half of a pair of ogre twins, he came from some other unknown tribe, smashed heads and became the leader of the tribe, while also renaming it.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
====Boog (Male, Ogre)====&lt;br /&gt;
* Leader of the Hurtmore clan.  The second hald of the ogre twins, he went to a different tribe than his brother and took it over.  Both he and his brother use one half of a broken double sword which, judging by the size, was probably forged for a giant at first.&lt;br /&gt;

==Your Characters and the start of the game==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The game starts in the town of Tragador on Orangeman's Day.  The orcs and ogres have allowed celebration of this day, but usually only as a way to keep some of the commoner's complacent.  Usually around this time, a few extra hands are hired to &amp;quot;join the guard&amp;quot; for a day, which usually just means wearing a uniform and standing around.  For whatever reason, you have decided to do this today.  This is one of the few times your are allowed to be armed in the streets as a &amp;quot;few petty rabble&amp;quot; shouldn't be able to stir up too much trouble.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A couple of rules and guidelines for your characters:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* Play what class/race you want.  Don't worry about &amp;quot;we don't have a defender&amp;quot; sort of mentality as I won't go out of my way to punish you since you don't have a particular class/skill.&lt;br /&gt;
* Look over powers, feats, paragon paths, and epic destinies.  Please come to the table each night knowing what you'll want to take one level in advance.&lt;br /&gt;
* At the end of each session, I'd like to collect an up-to-date hard copy of  your character sheet so I can plan for future encounters.&lt;br /&gt;
* Ret-cons of characters will be available throughout heroic tier. Depending on the type of change and how long you played an old character, we can also write a character out of the party.&lt;br /&gt;
* Please play only if you want to play.  I will not take it personally should you read over some of this information and not be interested.  If you start playing and don't like how it's going and wish to stop playing, please let me know after a session, but hopefully before the next session so I may adjust encounters for next time.  It's not that I don't want to hang out, but if you're not interested in playing, that may tend to lead to distracting activities which may disrupt other who may be interested.&lt;br /&gt;
* I'd like to play with all players present.  Since there are reoccurring characters, and a progressive story (hopefully), then I'd like as many people there as possible.  Having a character &amp;quot;pokeballed&amp;quot; or even worse, killed, when a player is unavailable can be very discouraging.&lt;br /&gt;
* Send me your character's alignment.  His may be done privately or publicly, it doesn't matter to me.  This will help me understand where you want your character to go and so half-way through a session I'm not surprised by an &amp;quot;I eat that defenseless baby&amp;quot; sitiuations.&lt;br /&gt;
* Also, I'd like it if you could send my your preference for how you'd like magic items to be distributed with your character ideas.&lt;br /&gt;
For example: find &amp;quot;random&amp;quot; items, an item wish list, converting magic items to gold and you just buy what you want out of the gold...&lt;br /&gt;
